Having a tool like this is essential if your color reproduction needs to be exact. There are many type of calibration tools available but the reason I like this one is because it comes in its protective case which helps to keep the colour swatches clean. As they become dirty from general use, if affects the colour of the swatches which can reduce the accuracy of the calibration. It also has a grey card behind one of the swatches for general white balance calibration as well as a selection of alternate white balance settings that lets you slightly warm up or cool down a scene.
