Canon 1DX Mk II
This is my workhorse. I have used several 1 series from Canon and they are always dependable machines that do everything you need them to do. Yes they are expensive but the 1 series are no ordinary cameras. They are design to take a beating. I do a lot of work at the beach where most cameras fail due to sand getting in the controls and exposed to sea water. The best feature of this camera for me is the battery. I often do full day shoots with just one battery. I own three batteries and I’v yet to get to the third one even in the longest of shoots. On the negative side, they are big, heavy and on 21Mp so not the highest resolution but more than enough for most jobs. Great video too. Now that the MK III has been released for a while you can find these heavily discounted and a great purchase. This one does everything I need so I won’t be upgrading at this stage.
